I’m Ms. Flora, originally from the UK and now based in Hong Kong, where I’ve been living and working with families for over 10 years.
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked closely with children and their families across different environments: from classrooms to homes, and across different cultures and educational systems. Throughout that time, my role has always been the same: to support, guide, and understand each child as an individual.
My journey began early, with a natural connection to working with children. Over time, this led me to the Montessori approach, a philosophy that deeply shaped the way I understand learning and development. I went on to train and work within Montessori and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings, while also gaining experience through more personal roles such as nannying, tutoring, and supporting families directly in their homes.
These experiences taught me something essential: children don’t learn in isolation. They grow within their environment, through their relationships, and alongside the people who care for them every day.
After many years working in schools, I chose to focus more closely on one-to-one and small group support. This allowed me to better understand each child’s needs and to work more collaboratively with parents, offering not only learning support for the child, but guidance and reassurance for the family as a whole.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: when a child feels understood, they grow with confidence and independence. And when families feel supported, that growth becomes even more meaningful.
